I spent almost the whole day walking around with friends and busy chit chating till I hardly took any photos. The event itself cannot be compared the Cosfest or AFA but It makes me felt much more relax. Really enjoyed myself that day.

This make me realize i alway have "expection" for myself like.... must do good lighting, must took more photos, must have more isolation, must pay attention to more details etc etc..... until I am unable to really see wat is going on during the event. This will definitely not going to happen again in the year 2011 :-)

Got to admit lack of effort driectly equal to lousy photos so i decided to post process "abit" differently this time.

(I salute anyone that can tell the photos is from EOY 2010 :D)

My strobe, flash trigger and lens have been erratic for AFA Day 1 so have to left them in my bag for day 2.

It ok, just move to other location with better lighting for Day 2 with using the same setup.

I think i have gain alot more experience with lighting since Confest this year. The photos isn't great but I am glad with the progress and AFAX is really FUN! PRAY it will still be in Singapore next year...

Even in a event that is pack with pple, there are always work around to problems like messy backgrounds, unwanted body parts, bystander with rainbow checkers shirts, inconsiderate photographers that just move infront of you, poor indoor lighting, formation of wall of photographer, lens not focusing ................ and the list will just go on forever if you just keep complaining about them.

Relax and enjoys. Spare a few moment to think about what you can do with what you have. The results can be more rewarding than you expect. Don't expect prefect photos and treat overcoming issues as part of the fun! You do not need a gear camera + a set of ultra expensive lenses, u just need to be part of the events and enjoy them.

All photos is taken with my lightest and smallest setup that is less than 0.6KG (Canon 40D + 50mm f1.8mkII) + strobes :D

I am really not updating the blog as often as I like to and it almost 3 months since I last bring my toy out to take some photos.

Busy with work + lazy.... finally drag myself out of the house yesterday to fort canning again to see I make any progress with my toy shoots.

Move my lazy ass down to Singapore river again. Not sure of MBS sky garden allow me to use my tripod and most of the good spots were taken, really lucky that I manage lucky to squeeze in and find a spot near merlion again.

The fireworks is alot more intensive compare to the preview, near the end it juz took 2~3 sec to overexpose my shot at min aperture, ORZ to the singapore goverment!

My wife is out that day with her sister so it is up to me to bring 2 kids, my gears and a pram through the crowds, road blocks using public transports and legs to the merlion and take some fireworks photos.

Have to make a few stops on the way to get food, drink and bring the kids to the wash room. Because of the blockage, the slope for wheelchair and pram is unavailable. Had to make a huge detour only to find out there no one to operate the handicape assist. I had to hand carry the huge pram containing

1 younger daughter
2 tripod
3 liter of water
4 set of snacks

down a flight of stairs with a camera behind my back while trying no to lose sight of my elder daugher.

When finally we can squeeze our way through to the merlion and setup the tripod at the spot we decided the day before, the wind is blowing the water from the merlion mouth straight at us. My friend had to move around to look for another spot, my elder daughter chose this magical moment and ask too go toilet again!

Been a while since my last post, abit lazy to post process and filters my photos after work.

I only manage to arrival at the exhibition at 7.00 pm on last day and is really surprise by the size of this event. The next 3 hour only barely allow me to cover all the exhibition halls and the photos are taken handheld (macro nightmare) to save time.

There is veri little post processing done in lightroom, didn't really know what to do with flowers =.=|| Hope to retouch them when I got a better idea on how to do it.

Cosfest IX

Spent a few meaningful hours during this weekends at cosfest. Got myself a new umbrella, wireless trigger + accessory :-) Very happy with my $100+ investment, the photo is much better than what I took 6 mths back, definitely there is some improvement.

Hopefully I can said the same thing again during AFA and EOY end of this years.

This really change the way i think about flash! Special thank to BNN for the flash (Cant get mine to work wif the wireless trigger) and he assistance with this "Totem of Light"

Hi, not been able to post for a while because of work, family commitment and dun have a camera for a short period of time >.<

Organized a toy + photo outing with friends from the forum at Hort Park. The weather is great and enjoy the day very much, thanks guys!

I love the One Coin Grande Kotobukiya trading series! Love the size and the quality is Great~~~ even under a macro lens! Enjoy taking photo of them more nendoroid petits ( Online is flooded with photo of them, I dun think I need to add anymore of them lolz)

Meet up with a bunch of toy lover at Esplanade on Saturday. Had some nice food and chit chat at a Thai restaurant :)

The photo shot itself wasn't that smooth as the sky is grey and I bring the wrong figus thay don't fit the background :(

Promise to bring my family to the zoo on Friday :D but because of work, I have been awake for more than 28 hours :'(

Because of my working hours it is more likely I will see a sunrise than a sunset :D

Took a 2 hour break from work and drove to East Coast park today but keep getting a len connection error from my camera...... missed alot of shots and only manage to took photos of Moi out of the 4 nendo I bring today. Spent more time ratifying the error than taking photo >_<

Will do it again soon! After I visit canon service center today.

Can't remember each box contain how many of them but like many other bandai trading figurine box, you cannot complete a set with just one. Each box only contain 1 secret and there are 2 in each set >.<

This is not my first set of "candy" toys but it really get me started on Trading figures fews years back thanks to the hunt to complete it....

Each of the figurine in this set came from a cut scene from the anime and they are really funny and cute! My major complain for most bandai figurines is always the paints jobs and this set is no exception.

p.s The little story "board" and the way many of them is position is just nice for me to practice lighting controls to remove shadows. While I'm concentrating on getting that done, I left the aperture too big and accidentally blur out the titles...

Today is really a bad day to go to a park. The rain just stop when we arrived at the park and I had to mount the flash the whole day because the sky is still cloudy.... wind is so strong that I am lucky I had my blue tag with me to help pose my figu....

The repainted version for Mecha Musume vol 3 had the "most" changes from the normal version for this series. Beside a change in color, one of them had her head and weapon changed and the other got a new hat plus a newhair style.

I only purchase this 2 from the repaint version due to the space limitation of my display case.

Continue from yesterday is the repaint version of Mecha Musume vol 2. Only one figure have some minor changes and it is one of the more rare one from the random assorted box set. Manage to find the completed set online at quite a reasonable price.

Yamato Creators’ Labo #016 non-scale Ignis PVC figure is from the eroge “Jingai Makyo” ( 塵骸魔京 ) published by Nitro+.

I have never played any eroge release by Nitro+ but find many of their character design very beautiful like Al Azif and Etheldreda from demonbane, Rimi Sakihata from Chaos:Head. Both series had a anime adaption which you can check it out later.

Since I cannot find any cast-off photo for this PVC, I guess I just had to do it myself :)

Toys release by Atelier-Sai wasn't very appealing to me until the release of the Duel Maid series. The petit collection of the Duel Maid is around 6 cm tall that came with 2 set of hand and arms. Each maid have joints at the shoulder, hand, neck and waist which make them very poseable compare to other Petit series I have seen so far.

Dynasty Warrior 6 (Shin Sangoku Musō 5) Trading Figure set Vol 1

Since I recently brought the Vol 2 for this series, it is time to re-shoot them. The set is base on the 5 installment from the Koei Dynasty warrior series. Really glad that they base the characeor design for the set on the PS2 version instead of the X360 or else I will be paying second time for the "clone" character that Koei throw at me.

This series is pretty well made with great details and above average paint job. My only complain will be Taishi Ci is bending down because of its weak support point. Refer to the closeup photo to see for yourself.

Horo from Spice and Wolf, the popular light novel/anime that recently end the 2nd anime season. I am praying hard it will be renew for a 3rd.

There is surprising very few Horo figures in the market and non of them are able recreate her face in 3D prefectly. I prefer the G.S.C playful face over the rest until the Volks M.O.E version arrive.

I never played Sengoku Lance or any other game from the popular Lance (Rance) game series. When GSC homepage show her preview photos, I knew there is not way I am going to miss this.

Not really a big fan of Rosairio + Vampire but the figure for Moka Akashiya Awakened Version by GSC look great!

She look much better than the anime counterpart :)

The only accessory for these figure is the Rosario

and the detail of the figure is incredible, the necklace and the bracelet are real chains.
